There is a myth that bathing in the water of the Muktinath temple assures salvation after death. The Hindu god, Brahma, is claimed to have enlightened the eternal Muktinath fires. This place is a venue for Buddhists to focus on Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava), a famous scholar who brought Buddhism to Tibet.
