Mardi Himal trek is also considered the hidden gem in the Annapurna conservation area. This trekking route to Mardi Himal which was discovered in 2012. For the trekkers who love peace and tranquility, who want to avoid the crowd, Mardi Himal may be a good trekking trip. This trek is also best suit for beginners, senior citizens, and the family with the kids. However, the number of people on this trek is significantly less than the more popular and crowded treks of Annapurna Sanctuary like Ghorepani, Poon Hill Trek and Annapurna Base Camp Trek making it an ideal choice for solitude seeking trekkers.

Detail Itinerary for Mardi Himal Base Camp Trek


Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1350 m)

Arrival at Kathmandu airport, pick up by our correspondent and transfer to the hotel. (At the foot of the Himalayas, where they assure that their gods live, Nepal stands, a land of spectacular landscapes, temples and cities with a rich cultural heritage. These seem to transfer the traveler to medieval times on their walks through KATHMANDU, BHAKTAPUR and PATAN, the three urban cities that represent the backbone of the country. Stay overnight at hotel. 


Day 02: Kathmandu – Pokhara (820m)

We have three options to reach Pokhara; via flight, private vehicle and tourist bus. We will reach Pokhara after 25 minutes flight, 5 / 6 hours by private vehicle and 7 / 8 hours by tourist bus as per client’s requirement. Pokhara is one of the beautiful city in Nepal from where we can see the lakeside view, Mountain View and very chill & peaceful environment. Stay overnight at hotel.


Day 03: Pokhara – Phedi – Dhampus (1650 m) 5/ 6 hrs

We will pick you up from Pokhara hotel at 8 am morning after having breakfast and then we will ride from Pokhara to Phedi in a private vehicle. From Phedi we will walk for about 2 to 3 hours to reach Dhampus. Dhampus is a beautiful village with the settlement of ethnic community of Gurung people. You can explore around the Dhampus and enjoy the panoramic views of mountains like Annapurna Mountain range, Manalsu mountain range. The sunrise and sunset from the hilltop of Dhampus is a breath breaking view to watch. Stay overnight at lodge.


Day 04: Dhampus – Forest Camp (2600 m) 5/6 hrs

This day we will have breakfast early in the morning and then head towards our new destination which is rest camp. After walking about 2 hours in normal walking seed we reach Deurali and then in another 4 hours we reach Forest Camp. We will walk through the jungle some straight trials and few ascending trials during the way before we reach Forest camp. We will walk through the alpine forest before we reach forest camp. We will have lunch on forest camp then after taking rest for a while there. It takes normally four hours to reach forest camp at the normal walking speed. Overnight we will stay at lodge.


Day 05: Forest Camp - Low Camp (2550 m) – Badal Dada (2970 m) - High Camp (3580m) 7/8 hrs

This day we will have breakfast in the early morning then head towards our ultimate destination, High camp. We will have to walk straight trials, ascending trials to reach High camp. This day as we are ascending uphill we will walk slow and steady. It takes around 2 and half hours at normal walking speed to reach Low camp and then other 2 hours to reach Badal Dada. We can take lunch on Badal Dada and explore around Badal Dada. We see the spectacular views of mountains and the scenery around Badal Dada. After taking rest we will head towards High camp after 3 hours at slow walking speed. Overnight we will stay at lodge.


Day 06: High Camp – Mardi Himal Base Camp (4450 m) – High Camp – Low Camp 6/7 hrs

This day we will wake up early in the morning, have breakfast and go to Mardi Himal Base Camp for the sunrise which will take around 3 hours to reach there. We can enjoy the mesmerizing views of sunrise on the mountains. We can see the beautiful range of himalays like Machhapuchre, Annapurna, Annapurna South, Himchuli, Gangapurna and others. After enjoying the view we will return back to High Camp and take lunch there. And then we will return back the same way to low camp which takes about 2 hours. Overnight we will stay at lodge.


Day 07: Low Camp – Sidhing (1885 m) – Pokhara (820 m) 4/5 hrs

This day after taking breakfast we will head towards Sidhing village. It will take around 4 to 5 hours to reach Sidhing. We will have to walk the descending trial through the forest ways till we reach Sidhing. Sidhing village is a settlement of Gurung people and here we can see the old villages of Gurung people as well as the farming and lifestyle of people. We will have lunch at Sidhing village and return back in jeep to Pokhara. It takes around 3 and half hours to reach Pokhara. Overnight we will stay at hotel in Pokhara.


Day 08: Pokhara (820 m)

On this day in the early morning we will drive to Sarangkot. From this place we can see the magical, beautiful sunrise view and panoramic views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himalayan range. We will return back to hotel and enjoy the breakfast in Sarangkot. In the afternoon we will do the city sightseeing. We will visit the mysterious Gupteshore cave, amazing David falls, International Mountaineering Museum, through boating in Fewa Lake we will visit Bindubasini temple. Stay overnight at hotel.


Day 09: Pokhara – Chitwan

This day after breakfast in the Himalayan city we will prepare for our flight to Chitwan. We will  take private vehicle from Pokhara – Chitwan which is 146 km and takes around 4 hours. Chitwan is known for the most attractive national park located at southern terai region of Nepal. The Park has wide varieties of wildlife offering people from across the world an opportunity to observe beautiful flora and fauna. Here, one can see very rare endangered species like one-horned rhinos, sloth bear, wild boars, leopards, crocodiles and many more than 500 species of birds. This day we will visit Tharu village, visit the sunset view.  In evening we can enjoy Tharu cultural dance. Stay overnight at hotel.


Day 10: Chitwan: Jungle activities

Early morning we will enjoy various jungle activities such as Elephant riding, canoeing, jungle walk and etc. We will do the canoeing in Rapti River for 35 minutes and get to see the Gharial crocodile, many different species of birds. Then after we go for the jungle walk, 2 to 3 hours and Elephant Safari / Jeep Drive in the Chitwan National Park. Stay overnight at hotel.


Day 11: Chitwan – Kathmandu

Early morning Bird watching trip and after returning from Bird watching trip we will have breakfast drive to Kathmandu by tourist bus 5 / 6 hours or private vehicle 4 / 5 hour drive or by 20 minute flight we will reach Kathmandu. Stay overnight at hotel.


Day 12: Kathmandu

We will get visit the different places which are listed in UNESCO World Heritage Site: Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swoyambhunath, Boudhanath and Pashupatinath today. Stay overnight at hotel.

Kathmandu Durbar Square: (World Heritage Site): Kathmandu Durbar square is one of the popular place which is liked by many visitors due to its exquisite architecture and artistic embellishment. It consists of Huge Royal Palace with different temples dating back from the 15th to the 18th century. The house of the living goddess, the ferocious Kal Bhairav, the red monkey god, the Hanumandhokha palace, the Ashok Binayak temple, Kasthamandap, the Temple Taleju and hundreds of erotic carvings are some few examples of the sights at the square. All woodcarvings, statues and architecture in this area are exceptionally fine.

Swoyambhunath: Swoyambhunath is one of the most glorious Buddhist stupa. It is said to be 2000 years old. Swoyambhunath is, perhaps, the best place to observe the religious harmony in Nepal. The stupa is among the most ancient in this part of the world and it’s worshippers are diverse from Newar nuns, Tibetan monks and Brahman Priests to lay Buddhist and Hindus. Swoyambhunath provides an excellent view of the Kathmandu valley.

Bouddhanth: Boudhhanath stupa is one of the largest Buddhist stupa in the world. The Stupa 100 meters in diameter, was built on an octagonal base inset with prayer wheels by the Lichchivi King Mana Deva in the 15th century. The pinnacle of this stupa represent the stages of enlightenment, symbol of royalty, compassion, knowing and nirvana. There are many myths about the origins of the Stupa. Early morning and evening are the times to visit Bouddha to join the local residents in Kora. There is an enclosure with several monasteries of the different schools of Tibetan Buddhism.

Pashupatinath: Pashupatinath is one of the most sacred temples in Nepal. The temple of Pashupatinath is a large double roofed pagoda of brass and gilt gold; the gateway is plated with silver. There are linga images of Shiva along with statues, shrines and temples dedicated to other deities in the temple complex. There are rows of Shiva shrines and Hindu pilgrims from all over South Asia offering worship to Shiva, the Lord of Destruction. Entrance to the temple precinct is permitted to the Hindus only. However, visitors can clearly see the temple and the activities performed in the temple premises from the vantage point across the bank of the Bagmati River.


Day 13: Final Departure Day

Enjoy your last day on Kathmandu before departure. At your mentioned departure time our correspondent will pick you up from hotel and transfer to airport and depart you with warm hearts.
